If not taught me, then reinforced what I already knew, but needed to work on. I’m sure this list will look different for everyone, but if I had to guess, there --- [Skip to content](https://blog.getsmarterprep.com/get-smarter-prep-blog/closing-the-chapter-on-2020#main-content) ![Get Smarter Prep Logo](https://blog.getsmarterprep.com/hs-fs/hubfs/GSP_Logo_color_072513.png?width=2096&height=548&name=GSP_Logo_color_072513.png) - Home - Products - Pricing - Blog - Company Open main navigation Close main navigation - Home - Products - Pricing - Blog - Company - [Contact us](https://blog.getsmarterprep.com/get-smarter-prep-blog/closing-the-chapter-on-2020#contact) [Contact us](https://blog.getsmarterprep.com/get-smarter-prep-blog/closing-the-chapter-on-2020#contact) Dec 30, 2020 10:25:35 AM # Closing the Chapter on 2020 [Get Smarter Prep](https://blog.getsmarterprep.com/get-smarter-prep-blog/author/get-smarter-prep) Share: [facebook-f icon](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https://blog.getsmarterprep.com/get-smarter-prep-blog/closing-the-chapter-on-2020) [linkedin-in icon](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https://blog.getsmarterprep.com/get-smarter-prep-blog/closing-the-chapter-on-2020) [Twitter icon](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=https://blog.getsmarterprep.com/get-smarter-prep-blog/closing-the-chapter-on-2020) [pinterest-p icon](http://pinterest.com/pin/create/link/?url=https://blog.getsmarterprep.com/get-smarter-prep-blog/closing-the-chapter-on-2020) [envelope icon](mailto:?body=https://blog.getsmarterprep.com/get-smarter-prep-blog/closing-the-chapter-on-2020) As we near the end of 2020 (finally), I’ve been thinking back on what this year has taught me. If not taught me, then reinforced what I already knew, but needed to work on. I’m sure this list will look different for everyone, but if I had to guess, there may be a few items on my list that you would find on yours as well. 2020 was a year of many hardships for the entire world, but I am grateful to look back and reflect on things that mean more to me now than 12 months ago. 1. ##### Be more patient. 2. ##### Learn something new. 3. ##### Revise. Plan. Revise. Plan. Revise. 4. ##### Be more respectful of others. 5. ##### Listen. 6. ##### Educate Yourself. 7. ##### Find joy in the smallest of things. 8. ##### It’s okay to take a minute for yourself. 9. ##### Keep working hard…it will pay off. 10. ##### Take time away from the news and social media every now and then.   What’s your top ten? Does your list look different? Challenge yourself to look back at this year and write down what you’ve learned so you can use what you’ve been taught to move forward.
